Unknown Angel (2012)

acrylic, ink & colour pencil on canvas

I want to show my art because I have found new life and it is all thanks to my seizures!! All of my artwork has changed since the onset of my seizures in 2009. I find that I am greatly influenced by what I experience during an aura. The vivid colors in my pieces are a reflection of my auras.

I am in love with my new title as "Artist"! I want others to know that we don't have all the answers and hope that something I do will inspire someone to keep going! I am no longer afraid to tell people that I have seizures! I own the fact that this makes me unique and it makes my art very personal, which is something I never understood how to do before. I have learned that there is a beautiful freedom in "losing control" of your own life.

I am in love with my new title as "Artist"! I would have never pursued any more art if this had not happened.

I want people to understand that seizures may be scary to see, but think of how scary it is for the person who is having one. I want to help educate people on what to do when they witness a seizure. I want to shout that having epilepsy or a seizure disorder doesn't make you any less of a person, in fact, it might just make you a better person!
