I want to share that I have epilepsy to increase awareness and to introduce epilepsy into the public consciousness.
I want people to recognise that the brain is an organ of the human body and as such is also vulnerable to illness. That despite individuals having any brain dysfunction they are themselves and not the disease. Reducing the mystery that surrounds epilepsy will enable people to be less afraid. Anyone with epilepsy should receive the appropriate care given by professionals who specialise in epilepsy so that individuals are given the appropriate medication and ongoing treatment relevant to each person. I would like epilepsy to be accepted by society as easily as heart disease.
